VCI film recycling is a crucial aspect of sustainable packaging in compliance with local laws governing environmental responsibility. VCI films are commonly blown extruded from LDPE and LLDPE, providing effective corrosion protection for metal components during transportation and storage. Despite their widespread use, VCI films are challenging to reuse due to their nature of exhaustion and wear during the initial application. Recycling VCI films involves a specialized process that often utilizes adding more VCI masterbatch, a concentrated form of the corrosion inhibitor.
