The World-Class Anti-Corrosion & Quality Control Solution You Can Trust
The global automotive industry has traditionally used the Knock Down packaging system, where the approximately 30,000 parts of a vehicle are manufactured in one country or region to be exported to another country or region for final assembly. In order to ensure the same quality of parts during transport and storage, the industry has used and continues to use the largest quantity of VCI materials (about 28%) in the packaging process. Even as the industry undergoes a major transformation from the fuel-based vehicle model to the electricity-powered vehicle model, removing the need for engines and related parts and drastically reducing the number of parts per vehicle, many industry think tanks predict the market itself will grow bigger. As such the same KD system, which can be broken down to CKD (Complete Knock Down), SKD (Semi Knock Down), and DKD (Disassembly Knock Down), depending on the part assembly method, will remain the fundamental manufacturing framework for the industry, and demand for VCI materials will grow hand-in-hand with the market growth. Typical VCI products used for KD packaging are VCI Film, VCI Diffusers, VCI Emitters, VCI Powder sachets, and VCI Paper.
Since the 1990s, GreenVCI® has consulted with numerous top carmakers worldwide to determine the most economical and efficient KD packaging methods and procedures using VCI and other supplementary materials. Currently, our products are being supplied to the world’s best carmakers including VW, Daimler, BMW, as well as to the top part manufacturers, including Bosch, Magna, and Autoliv. Even before the ESG agenda penetrated and shifted the conventional manufacturing paradigm of the industry, GreenVCI® products have been improved and upgraded constantly to meet the highest environmental and safety regulations of certifications such as ROHS, REACH, and biodegradability requirements imposed by accreditations such as USDA, BPI, GreenSeal, Korea Eco Label, and EU Eco Label. There are also a few add-on features clients may select as customization requests, including electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding function, antistatic function, and moisture absorption (40-150%) function.
