Q: Does the thickness of VCI heat-shrink, stretch film matter?
A: VCI heat-shrink film, also known as shrink wrap, is a flexible polymer substance employed to package that is heat shrinkable and heat sealable. Since resin for this film extrusion has different properties such as MVTR and elasticity than LDPE and LLDPE for general films, there are differences with production details and application procedures but in general it is recommended that the thinner the film, the higher the VCI resin ratio used; therefore, the actual thickness/thinness of the film does not really matter but the mixing ratio does.
